Behavioural Interviewing used in the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Process
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) was a foundation stone of the reform of Australia's training system in the 1990s.  However many Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) are uncomfortable using RPL because they are not sure that the evidence they have collected justifies deeming a candidate to be competent.  This paper was presented by David Neyle to the Hunter Trainer and Assessors Network in 2008.  It shows how a technique that is generally applied to staff selection interviewing ('Behavioural Interviewing') can also be applied to the RPL process.  You can view the paper here.HTANv1
