14/5/10 Development of endorsed and non-endorsed resources to support the Electricity Supply Industry – Generation Sector Training Package
Lightship People Systems has been contracted by EE-Oz Industry Skills Council to write a range of support materials for 45 Units of Competency from the Training Package. These resources will include:
· Essential Knowledge andAssociated Skills (EKAS) · Work Performance Specifications · Competency Development Plans · Learning and Assessment Plans
The project is intended to be completed at the end of 2010.
14/12/09 Lightship People Systems contracted to write national assessment instruments for High Risk Licensing
SafeWork Australia has contracted Lightship People Systems through EE-Oz ISC to consult with stakeholders and prepare draft assessment tools for the following national licensing units of competence: · UEPOPL001A Licence to operate a turbine · UEPOPL002A Licence to operate a reciprocating steam engine
The project will be completed by February 2010 and interested persons are encouraged to make contact with David Neyle so that your input can be added into the assessment tools.
11/9/09 EE-Oz signs Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Lightship People Systems
The Industry Skills Council which oversees Electrotechnology and Utilities training in Australia has contracted Lightship to develop a range of Training Package resources. This work is the culmination of a number of successful projects undertaken by Lightship for the Electrotechnology and Electrical Supply industries.

Lightship People Systems completes an assignment to develop training resources for electricians working in electrical substations.
The following extract is from 'The EE-Oz Wire', Issue 3, Winter 2009 as published by EE-Oz Training Standards:
"New Certificate IV - ESI Substation Resources. The NSW Utilities and Electrotechnology ITAB has recently developed a suite of support materials for workers undertaking training and assessment to perform maintenance and operational activities in electrical substations, especially in rural and remote areas.
The materials support eight core units of competency from the ESI Certificate IV in ESI - Substations (UET40206). They include: eight trainer guides, with PowerPoint presentations and video clips; seven learner guides; and eight assessment guides. The resources are designed to allow customisation and editing by trainers and assessors in line with the needs of their clients.
